This week we continue to be influenced by the effects of last Monday’s full Moon in Taurus. Emotionally there may be a weakening of your resolve to keep your foundations stable and unchanged. The massive rocky shore that has always resisted the pounding of the waves is beginning to show signs of erosion. A phase of pretending may be over. Sadness may be accompanied by glimmers of hope. A softening allows the truth to seep though. You may be on the verge of a new emotional freedom that allows you to consider options traditionally off your radar screen – especially if you were born under the sign of Taurus or Scorpio.
This week the stars align in complicating configurations as we move toward a new Moon in Sagittarius. As we strive emotionally to keep our head above water we’re also considering the nature of some new seeds that need to be planted. We’re likely to be drawn to something or someone who can free us up to embark on a new adventure. To re-ignite passion, we need something more interesting, more inspirational, responsive, and spacious. To have more room to freely move around and to freely experiment with what we know we can do, our carefully built current life structures may need to be dismantled.
Jupiter in peace-loving Libra collides with the traditionally powerful, ruthless forces of Venus/Pluto in Capricorn. And Uranus is right there agitating in unexpected, shocking ways. In the astrological world this is an unnerving combination.
Best case scenario looks like a willingness to engage in an innovative compromise that involves placing immediate needs for control (or retaliation) on hold for the sake of preserving relationships that will be beneficial for the future. Money may be the sticking point.
Worst case looks like surprisingly heavy-handed attempts to crush hope and all resistance to whatever the “tyrant” in your life has in mind.
Uranus can throw you off your game because entering the mix is something you hadn’t anticipated – even in your wildest dreams.
The tyrant could manifest as the Thanksgiving guest who decides its time to tell one or all of you how he really feels. Too many cocktails could unleash an angry torrent of accusations and insults. For you a strenuous emotional struggle to quickly regroup and respond rationally may be required. Jupiter wants to keep the peace and will do what it takes to make that happen. Venus/Pluto considers the advantage of total destruction and gaining the upper hand. Uranus is happy to shock the scene into a chaotic, confusing, “anything but peaceful” mess that makes it difficult to return to the status quo.
Any variation of the above is possible. Another possibility is that a guest may feel comfortable sharing a secret with you, making the usual Thanksgiving scene more interesting, while forging a closer, more meaningful personal connection.
But relationships are likely to enter into treacherous territory this week. It’s good to have a “heads-up” warning and to be prepared. Being in a “long-range” frame of mind makes emotional stability and wise “moment-to-moment” decisions possible. On some level there is likely to be a strenuous balancing act in play.
By the time of the Sagittarius New Moon (next Tuesday) all patterns mentioned above will have broken apart. The intensity of the past week will dissipate and we may be unsure of where we’re headed. But the seeds have been planted.
I will talk about the New Moon more in another post. It’s squared by Neptune. The newness that is being set in motion has a hazy, somewhat confusing, unreal feel to it. Saturn trines Uranus clearing the way for structural change. Mars in Aquarius trines Jupiter in Libra. Cohesive group action and unified protest supports the belief that there is no sustainable option other than peaceful co-existence.
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for your ongoing loyalty and support – and for reading what I write. I’m very grateful for you 🙂

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Success this week may depend on your ability to shed an old approach or style within the realm of relationships. The role you notoriously play is being challenged in some fairly profound ways. There is a relentless drive for success that cannot be easily realized without a change in the nature of your relationships. Practicality is highlighted. Ask yourself what is now the most practical, efficient, effective thing you could do to improve your health, and your chances for future professional success and happiness? When you have the answer, follow through. Having one foot in and one foot out, failing to fully commit, or holding back in subtle ways, is an old pattern that depletes your energy while sending the universe mixed messages. It’s time to do something different – to forge new kinds of connections with off-beat, energetic allies. It’s time to decide. It may be time to fall hopelessly in love.
TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Taurus is currently under the influence of a dissolving phase – releasing old connections, old wounds, and an old form of escaping full commitment – especially within the realm of love. The future of love – mixed up as it usually is with financial stability – requires decisions may be difficult. It is time for you to move in practical ways toward love. It’s time to leave a state of denial (if you’re there) and to fully committed to a life of love – romantic love preferably. It’s your lifeblood, your life raft, the basis of any vitality that exists for you. Without it you’re flying at half mast, pretending to know what you’re doing while missing the most basic point. It’s time to move on, to own the reality, and to take responsibility for who your most basic needs.
A subtle resistance related to give and take, balance, and sensitive responsiveness in love is being dissolved, opening doors that have previously been closed to you. This week you have a very busy 7th house – the house of relationships, your primary partner, and others in general. It’s the house that most clearly reflects back to you who you are in the form of another. So what’s being reflected back might be a freer, more adventuresome, optimistic, truthful, future-oriented person. You’ve changed. The question now is how will you restructure your future to accommodate your freer, more adventurous self. Your plans can now be more expansive. You may need some new, more interesting surroundings. You may need to get onto the open road, turn up the music, and drive to where your car takes you. The restrictions you’ve lived with for a long time are dissolving.
Cancer may be dealing with some difficult relationship issues this week affecting the foundation of their life as it’s currently structured. The future of your work and your health may require an honest answer to the question “what is holding me back?” It looks complicated but may be related to some frustration in love that blocks your creative flow and a full expression of your true self. So what do you need to bring back a free flow of vitality through all aspects of your life? Astrology suggest that you need a fulfilling sex life, a continuously deepening sense of intimacy and sharing, a love relationship in a constant state of transformation through courageous risk, and a partner, obviously, who is on the same page. The suggestion is that this is complicated. Old structures and beliefs about commitment may need to be dismantled. Decisions are gut-wrenchingly difficult.
LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
This week looks like an opportunity for Leo to be on stage and in rare form – actually it’s your true form, it just doesn’t need to be subdued to the extent you’re used to. It’s time for you to be you’re most alive and entertaining self with no holds barred. You may find yourself surrounded by free spirits, an appreciative audience, or kids who demand that you work with them on their level. That’s your forte. In the scheme of the universe your job is to remind others how much fun it is to be alive – and that can be a really fun job. It can also put a few things back into proper perspective for you. Building your future is a heavy responsibility but if it comes at the expense of diminishing your true nature those responsibilities and the way you cope with them may need to be reconsidered and restructured – for your own sake and for the sake of all of us who count on you to keep us laughing and fully alive.
Virgo may be tired of feeling powerless in their ability to make an impact through their ideas, or the spoken or written word. They may sense the genius they harbor and the answers they have that others desperately need, but have resisted the need to go out on a limb to break through the stalemate. The big picture presents Virgo eternally preoccupied with wishful thinking regarding their closest relationships. They tend to to be incurable romantics on one hand and overly responsible “fixers” on the other. What needs to meld together is the combination of an inspired, unfocused, wild daydreaming with some very practical, down to earth action designed to hone their communication skills and their grip on reality. It may be time to spend some time alone with the goal of connecting to the transcendent and instinctively guided part of yourself. Refuse to make this just one more lifetime where you were misunderstood or didn’t get to say what others desperately needed to hear.
This week Libra may be bracing themselves for some intense challenge to their need to connect, to love, to cultivate peace, to share ideas, or to feel a sense of family belongingness. It is possible that fulfilling your emotional agenda and protecting yourself might require the need to recognize something new. Maybe you don’t actually need what you think you need. Maybe you need to take a lesson from someone who doesn’t sugar coat anything, who expresses love in unusual, quirky ways, who plays his own game, and seems resistant to audience reaction. You may need an outsider to show you how to feel more of a sense of belonging. You may need someone who is shut down and angry to show you how to love. You may need someone whose style is an affront to traditional standards of decorum to show you how to survive in a hostile environment. You may need the opposite of what you thought you needed. It’s less about feeling victimized and more about accepting responsibility for what you actually need and being open to those you can learn from.
SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
The Sun in the sign of Sagittarius – and many other Sagittarius placements – reside in your second house. That is your treasure trove of resources. How are you using the resources and talents you were born with and those you’ve accumulated along the way? It’s a good question for you, especially between now and Dec. 21st when the Sun moss into Capricorn. Sagittarius is a tricky sign to have occupying your second house. It makes materializing practical things that stabilize you difficult. Sagittarius has lots of ideas, romantic visions for the future, high principles, strong beliefs, a lust for learning, and the feeling that there is never quite enough of anything. Ultimately they can materialize very little of what might be considered practically useful to themselves. In the interest of feeling less restless it may be time to build something solid that requires a focus on the hear and now, the power of facts, unbiased information, and adapting and updating current beliefs.
Sagittarians are on fire this week with several planetary placement cramming into their first solar house. It is a time for new beginnings that entail significant expansion, broad future plans, foreign travel, and a strong belief in themselves. New allies and connections may open doors but financial power and control may feel like an area of challenge. Sagittarius is tired of having their dreams denied or cut short through unforeseen circumstances or lack of tangible support. But they seem determined this time to push through any resistance that exists. It may be time for a conversation with your significant other, a therapist, or supportive ally who can provide support. While acknowledging the Sagittarian need for independence, this looks like a joint effort. You can’t get there without support. It may be a good time to make your case to another asking for their support and explaining why this is so important to you.
CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
For some unknown reason (or one I can’t figure out) Capricorns limitations are being highlighted, dragged out of the closet and exposed to those least likely to be forgiving or to cut them some slack. Capricorn has some old issues that have yet to be resolved. One relates to a fear of unpredictability and the desperate need to control all the variables. Another the fear of failure or the feeling that they don’t deserve to be loved and appreciated unless they are highly competent and successful at all times. It’s a lot of pressure. Some of that could be relieved by finding the humor in your humanness. It’s not that hard to do. It just requires some effort in a direction that may not seem productive to you. Or you might want to admit that you’re not the perfect model of success and flawless competency at all times – and still, despite your expectations, there are those who love you deeply.
AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarius may be encountering a profound connection with the past that feels like an opportunity to replace a missing piece or to finish an unfinished story. A foreign or distant connection, artifacts, a long lost relatives maybe, may be the key to finally soothing your soul and settling you into a foundation that feels secure and deeply connected to a long unbroken line of existence. Profound transformations are occurring below the surface of consciousness. Uncovering and embracing your roots provides you with the opportunity to create a future that feels unique, out-of-the-ordinary, and more a reflection of your true self. You are being challenged and very encouraged to take back some power you’re accustomed to giving away. Money, resources, and what you owe another must be clarified and re-aligned with your true values and your current goals.
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces may be especially focused on achieving personal goals this week and they have some cosmic assistance. Mercury defines your thought process and Uranus denies the breaking through of old barriers to facilitate progress. Those two are working in sync this week to push you forward. The feeling is exhilarating and the pace accelerates. It focuses you on your attitude toward contributing what you own freely and holding back in order to consolidate power and assets. This is the week to be generous, to give what you have unselfishly if you want to move several giant steps in the direction of your personal goals. It’s a tried and true strategy that the more you give the more you receive, but it always feels a little awkward to trust that completely. This week it’s the most effective, practical, and rewarding thing you could possibly do.
