Horoscopes for the Week of July 27th – August 2nd

(Mosaic Art – quarry garden)

On Friday of this week Uranus turns retrograde. It will be in retrograde motion for the next five months – through December 28, 2016. Uranus is more “Uranian” in retrograde motion. There can be an intense build up of energy and tension with sudden release, sudden enlightenment, sudden understanding of what’s been historically confusing, and what appears to others to be “sudden change” in you.

Uranus retrograde stimulates internal rebellion and healing through psychological analysis. Psychological and emotional healing tends to be a quiet, private, focused process with its own unique rhythms and a “making it up as you go along” approach. What appears to others to be a sudden break with tradition or emergence into a different, freer approach of life, may actually be the end of a long, deliberate, painful healing process. Whatever ends is most likely truly over. Uranus does not look back.

On Saturday Mercury moves from the fiery creative sign of Leo into the critical, discrimminating, analytical sign of Virgo. Possibly you will take up the process of editing what you have created, making it more perfect. Maybe you will raise your standards, create a plan for self-improvement, address a physical or emotional health problem. All forms of communication are enhanced.

On Tuesday Mars moves from the sign of Scorpio into the signs of Sagittarius. If things have become claustrophobic, -monotonous, restrictive, and emotionally heavy – a more inspiring, optimistic, adventurous future may now be on the horizon. Most likely it will involve work, higher education, teaching, and more meaningful responsibilities.

On Tuesday there is a new Moon in the sign of Leo. Having released some long standing fear, limitation, or self imposed restriction, you may be free to embrace what you’ve previously denied yourself – something (or someone) you love, a freer, more creative, and joyful emotional state or life circumstance.

Planets seem to be moving into position as we wait just another few weeks for the “green light.” Get your “ducks in order” and prepare to soon be caught up in a new adventure and new direction.

Have a great week and thanks for reading 🙂

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
A sense of confinement is being lifted this week. The heaviness that suppressed your life energy – complicated sex, kept you heartsick, powerless, lacking in confidence and the initiative to start something new – is being dissolved. Metaphorically you’re moving from a home in a dark room in the basement to spacious piece of land and a roomy light – filled home. You’re free to travel and free to initiate what you want to confidently initiate as long as you have faith in yourself. A new Moon in your 12th house encourages you to shine a light on what’s been kept in the dark. You may now see what you couldn’t see before. Full exposure may feel like a blessing and a curse, but long-term it’s actually more of a blessing. You’re beginning to see the full outline of your reality and how your old excuses are no longer valid. Freeing your body seems mandatory. Restoring it to its rightful place as a source of wisdom and strength is important as you regain your footing, reconnect with your instincts, and re-orient yourself to a lighter, more spacious way of being.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
The impending Leo New Moon lands in your 4th house of comforting, nourishing, retreats and the expression of our most primal and essential nature. This is a time of returning “home” for sustenance, to be re-energized, and re-aligned. It’s time for a new approach to dealing with what this realm of life represents to you. Your soft, sensitive, nurturing qualities are highly energized and brilliant in the best of circumstances. But ongoing circumstances may have pressured you into a state of relative depletion at the deepest core of your being. Reviving your enthusiasm and energy requires that you focus on giving yourself what you tend to provide for others and deny for yourself. If you can, escape to a retreat involving women only, a natural setting, nourishing food, music, quiet, and an unapologetic celebration of all things feminine. Focus on opening to a degree of receptivity and acceptance that is a stretch for you. It will re-ignite a flame that is slowly being extinguished. Time to turn this around.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
The impending new Moon in Leo in your 3rd house realigns and re-energizes your thoughts in ways that create future opportunities. But Mercury, your chart ruler, moves into your 4th house. That’s a humble, unassuming influence. The drama and flashing lights that can sometimes accompany those “Aha” moments when you see an exciting opening for new avenues of self-expression are atypically absent. What coalesces instead is something of substance that feels so familiar on a core level that you may not feel it to be anything special. But it is. Even if you can’t clearly define what it is, when you feel something brewing give it space, time, nourishment, and encouragement in whatever ways feel right. Just don’t ignore it. It’s an opportunity worth developing presented in a deceptively simple package.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
An impending new Moon in your 2nd house may bring to the surface the need for an inner transformation. For you feeling lovable, abundantly creative, truly special, and admired, are basic needs – like food and water. It may be time for a more enlightened way of getting those needs met. Feeling satisfied that you are truly special involves the fearless acknowledgement that everyone is truly special. Going a step further to support the specialness you see in another is powerful. Feeling deeply admired requires the courage to openly admire and demonstrably appreciate others. Feeling lovable requires the willingness to risk loving another who is hard to love. And feeling abundantly creative involves fearlessly doing what you love when the flashy trappings of success just don’t seem to be there. Cancers are encouraged to purge themselves of pride, jealousy, a sense of entitlement, and the attention-getting behavior that misaligns them with more enlightened motives. You don’t have to do this all tonite. It’s a five month process.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Leo has been given the gift of a new beginning with all the potential and good fortune that implies. A new Moon in your 1st house (astrologically this is where it all begins) plants a new seed that will grow into whatever you encourage it to grow into. Careful cultivation involves regular, deliberate, visualization and imagining of the kind of future you want to inhabit. Haphazard care and attention ensures that your limited expectations will be fulfilled. But that is unnecessary. Notice where your mind goes when it’s allowed free reign. If it veers off into a fearful, worrisome realm take back the reigns and gently guide it back on track. This requires self discipline and constant self-awareness. Venus is encouraging you to ask for more than usual and to feel deserving. Keep your dreams unapologetically big. If you find yourself wishing for what you think you can have rather than what would truly excite and challenge you, start over. You have a month to fine tune this.

VIRGO (August 21-September 21)

Mercury, your chart ruler, has been locked up in a dark cell in your 12th house for awhile. Your Mercury is luminous though. Far from diminishing him, he has actually thrived while underground. He has lit up the darkness in ways that allowed him to see what had previously been hidden. He now understands all the twisted ways you keep yourself immobilized, lost, exhausted, fighting against your own best interests, and deluding yourself into thinking you’re the savior when you’re actually in need of some saving. The good news is he’s about to reveal those secrets to you – this Saturday or a few hours sooner to be exact. What he reveals has the capacity to change your approach to life. The New Moon in your 12th house allows you to plant a seed that grows into a whole new connection to your inner life. Your inner life needs to be transformed from a battleground into an amazing source of inspiration and guidance. Don’t be surprised if you’re inspired to write or to communicated in some transcendently beautiful and brilliant way.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)

This week Libra experiences a course reversal of some kind mostly related to their relationship with themselves, but maybe others as well. Different kinds of actions may have opened doors and hard-won courage may have thrown you onto a new, more meaningful path. Vesta at 0 Degrees of Cancer is angular (emphasized) in your solar chart. Most likely it is expressing as a surge of energy re-igniting a spark of life within the realm of your career – but maybe your home and family as well. It seems you are ending a phase of tragically sleepwalking through what was once a cherished, soulful enterprise. You are in the process of reviving and bringing that back to life. The new Leo Moon in your 11th house of dreams, hopes and wishes, ensures that a new seed is being planted that will grow into appreciative acceptance of your creative brilliance and unique contribution. An abundant and reliable flow of support is indicated.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Your world is opening up as you free yourself to be more independent and self-directed. For the most part it probably feels good and like it’s been a long time coming. The old regimes you allowed to control you are beginning to fade into the background. The old oppressors are losing their strength and influence. And the old, limiting, outer circumstances of your life may be beginning to crumble. The question is do you feel a deflation of your own private tendency to severely limit yourself and your options? Or do those tend to kick up periodically to remind you that they’re still a force to be reckoned with? The new Moon in Leo in your 12th house activates and exposes all the ways you stop yourself while blaming outer circumstances and others for stopping you. This week Mars transits into your 2nd solar house as you begin to address the practical considerations of solidifying a freer, more independent life.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
This week you may be feel the urge to approach life in a more adventurous, maybe riskier way. An infusion of courage allows you to choose what you’ve previously been afraid to choose – something bigger, more meaningful, more fun, and maybe very foreign. This week after wandering around in the wilderness for awhile (since January 2016 actually) something that has been gestating is “born” – and it can survive on its own with lots of care and love. It may require the willingness to up your game in some challenging way. A new Moon in your 9th house on Tuesday allows you to passionately pursue something more intellectual, tolerant, innovative, and unlimiting. The boundaries are being pushed way back for you. If you’re used to playing it small that is no longer necessary or advisable. It’s time to move onto a bigger stage with larger audiences. It’s time to consider joining the ranks of those you’ve always admired but felt “not yet ready” to belong.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Passion and new life may fuel old relationships from the past – or current ones. Emotions may be swirling. A new understanding about yourself and your emotions may move you onto higher ground. Maybe you figure out how to resolve an old “parting of the ways” or source of conflict. Maybe you feel worse about the strain you place on partners to adjust to your remote moods, inaccessibility, and worrisome preoccupations. Mars is about to start messing with your subconscious mind, stirring up aspects of your being about which you have no clue. You may feel that in the form of increased anxiety and a tendency to obsessively worry about your future. Accessing your deeply buried inner optimism, faith in yourself, and the basic friendliness of the universe, has been your ongoing challenge since December of 2014. Mars intensifies the challenge this week as you move to expose what you’ve kept hidden from yourself.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Off and on since January you may have struggled with feelings of alienation or confusion involving friends, associations, and groups that could enhance your career and life direction. Your creative contributions are thought provoking and mind-bending but you may have lacked confidence that they would be well-received, or the opportunity to present them in a way that would attract attention. This week you may be motivated to “throw your hat into the ring” risking rejection and further alienation but, most likely, receiving acceptance instead. Of course you could mess this up by continuing to assume that you do not deserve support, that your contributions aren’t that valuable, or that doing what you love is a form of self-indulgence that shouldn’t be rewarded. It’s better to unapologetically ask for what you want and to assume that the universe, being the friendly place that it is, wants to make you happy. It’s better to assume that your contributions are timely, unusual, and brilliant enough to deserve a place at the table.
pisces otherworldly
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces is better off playing the long game this week, keeping their focus on the future rather than stoking potential conflict within relationships. There is some focused, meticulous, maybe brilliantly creative work you could be doing now that has the potential to turn your life in the direction of your dreams. Maybe there are opportunities to change the nature of your work and current responsibilities to align with something more meaningful to you. That work may also have the potential to move you onto a bigger, more interesting stage. Keeping your dreams alive despite disappointment or conflict is what matters most this week. You may feel unsupported, imbalanced, hypercritical, irritable, and severely challenged to stay focused and optimistic regarding your overall life direction. These are temporary distractions that can throw you off your game if you let them, but they’re fleeting. It doesn’t seem wise to be distracted from your long game.
