Horoscopes for the Week of 8/30 – 9/5

(Mosaic Artist – Suzanne Rippe)

This week the eclipse point (28 degrees of Leo) is powerfully triggered. It’s anticipated that Mercury will finish off it’s final days in retrograde motion with a bang and maybe some great fanfare.

Mercury has been retrograding since August 13th in the sign of Virgo. The methods we use to steer ourselves in the direction we want to go have been, and are currently being, analyzed for efficiency and effectiveness. Most likely some improvement or change in how we get from point A to point B is required. Backtracking or re-living past responses that were less than effective may lead to a clarification. This week actions that need to be taken in a specific direction or toward a specific target may be undeniable.

Mercury backtracks into the sign of Leo tomorrow. This weekend, still retrograding, Mercury makes a conjunction to Mars at the eclipse point. Anger, passionate desires, conflict, ego-centric drama, sexual impulsivity, newly exposed details, and the actual truth, coalesce to create a dynamic energy release.

On Tuesday, September 5th, Mercury stations direct meaning it shifts from retrograde into direct motion. This is a type of cosmic “slowing and relentless bearing down” on a specific issue that can no longer be ignored. The significance is that the shift takes place at 28 degrees of Leo – the exact degree of the eclipse point. In the astrological world current unfolding events are thought to affect the shape of things to come for a long time to come.

Watch the “King”(Donald Trump) for a clarification of the impact of the impending energy release. The most sensitive part of his chart (the ascendent) is highly activated this week. How he creates or navigates through anger, desire, passion, conflict, ego-centric drama, sexual history, exposure, and the truth will most likely be very clarifying.

Saturn, newly in direct motion – and Mercury about to be – allows us now to gain traction. The time for wishful thinking is over. We’re headed for a transition into the world of “Saturn in Capricorn” beginning in December of 2017. It may be time to simplify, to narrow your focus, and to pay lots of attention to any discrepancy between what people say and what they do.

Include yourself in that examination. Actions speak louder than words and can reveal the unvarnished truth. Practice making decisions based on what you observe rather than what you hear or want to believe. It’s a more “no nonsense” effective approach to achieving what you must achieve. 2018 is shaping up to be a “no-nonsense,” “no whining,” “nose to the grindstone,” type of year. It’s not too soon to begin preparations that could make the transition easier.

Have a great week….

And thank you, as always, for reading what I write.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Mercury may bring you back into the realm of examining how you can be more efficient and effective as you deal with old issues involving lovers, children and overall capacity to infuse your life with joy. A stubborn mindset or hyper-critical approach to yourself (and others) focuses you on the need for self-improvement and a different style and approach. It may be time for you to rebel against “less than loving” treatment. It may be time for a house-cleaning where all the “crazies” from the past are thrown out and a vacuum for sane grown-ups, fully capable of love is created. A tough decision to reverse course may be part of this picture. Your allotted time for wishful thinking is about to expire. It’s time to believe what you see. Some things are just not workable. If you can express your anger artistically it’s time to do that. State or write what you have to say to those who should have loved you better. Then be honest about whether or not you can tolerate those waiting to do just that.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
You may notice that you’ve gone through the motions of ridding yourself of a disappointing past that left you feeling unloved and craving more. But the freedom you seek may require more than tinkering around the edges – though it probably seems you’ve done way more than that. Old conditioned responses, bad habits, low self worth, and obsessions may linger to keep you trapped in a prison of your own making. There is something left undone that seems to hold you back. You may be in the process of attempting to bargain with the universe. “I’ll change everything expect this one especially difficult thing and then you’ll set me free ok?” The universe may be responding with an unequivocal “no.” You are capable of making the hard decision. It’s time to let go of the root of the problem. You can’t blame a Taurus for not wanting to make himself too uncomfortable, too destabilized, too pared down, or too unburdened of sensual trappings. But nothing short of a thorough break with the past may be required. This week you may realize it’s time to get on with it. Clarified may be the fact that there is no other way.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Once again the message that doing what you love, gravitating toward satisfying creative projects, conjuring up the most joy-filled ideas and solutions, and setting in place a foundation to support what you love most, moves you back on track with yourself. Devising a routine filled with love and support, and moments of sheer pleasure for you is a necessity not a luxury. Generous daily infusions of sheer joy advance you in the direction of spiritual growth. It all makes you a better person – a more ethical, loving person. So, in this regard, it may be time to make the change or the hard decision to move on from whatever stands in the way of a joyful existence. It can essentially be described as a child-like immersion in ongoing creative fun and adventure. Your mind and heart will take you there if you truly believe it is the best way for you to function efficiently and compassionately.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
This may represent a pivotal time when you commit to a personal “hero’s journey.” It may look like this: You live in the ordinary world and receive a call to go on an adventure. You’re afraid to follow the call but you feel supported by a mentor or helper. At some point along the way you cross the threshold into the unknown where you’re faced with difficult challenges and undergo a significant ordeal. In this realm there is no getting around your fear. You have to face it and surmount it. You succeed and return to your previous world with a precious treasure, gift, or wisdom to share with the world. You’re completely transformed and freer than you’ve ever been. It may be time to see what you’re made of. It may be time to let go of a sheltered life that’s primarily convenient for you and others. It’s not enough to be a legend in your own mind. Now you can manifest it in the physical world.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Your tendency to pay attention to dramatic developments – big successes, the time when you were able to outshine the competition, to impress with your vast array of talents, or bow to thunderous applause – may distract from the simpler, quieter, less showy daily gifts that actually sustain and stabilize you. It may be time for you to acknowledge the humbler manifestations of everyday generosity, reliability, rhythm, and order that feed your soul and keep you fueled. The “givens” you always assumed would be there for you may need to be recognized. The simpler things may hold within them the type of beauty you often miss but desperately need. In the interest of balance and a healthy perspective a little humility could go a long way now. A massive “low profile” web exists to support you’re most creative, entertaining, joy-filled self. But assumptions that it will always be there for you are more likely to be upheld if you take time to acknowledge those you essentially depend on to sustain you.

Virgo (August 21 – Sep 21)
Virgo may be too busy solving problems and keeping themselves useful to notice that their style and approach leaves little time or energy to appreciate all the things that are not only right with the world, but absolutely exquisite. Virgo may not notice that just beneath the surface of awareness there is a world dedicated to providing you with an abundance of love, fertile ideas, supportive connections, creative inspiration, intuitive direction, a treasure trove of talent you may choose to downplay. The beauty that is everywhere for you to see may not be fully appreciated as you keep your nose to the grindstone and pretend you’re irreplaceable. You’re much more than that. The universe recognizes your true worth and value and undeniable love-ability. She sends buckets of love in your direction every moment of everyday. But you may be too busy to notice. It’s time to notice and to reciprocate. It may be time to be alone more, to feel the fullness of who you are, and recognize the changes that need to be made in your basic style and approach to life. Something more balanced is required. Rebellion in the area of current responsibilities may be necessary. A more enlightened set of responsibilities may be welcomed.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)
A mystery, a loss, a mysterious loss, or something confounding, is once again brought to your attention. Obsessive tendencies or a style of communication that overwhelms and undermines your best intentions may need to be acknowledged and fixed. There is massive opportunity within the energy of the eclipse for you to befriend yourself as your most reliable supporter and entertaining inspiration. It is likely that you’ve been too hard on yourself in the past, obsessed with friendships “gone wrong” and willing to carry the burden of responsibility or obsessive attachment for far too long. It’s time to relax into knowing that you’re the best friend you’ve been longing for. It’s time to adjust your approach to accommodate this most important and basic relationship – even if it requires eliminating the old “second best friends” who never really satisfied your deepest longings. It’s time to immerse yourself in the cause of self-love and to recognize that your greatest social responsibility is to yourself. All the love flows from there.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
There is the notion that receptivity – specifically receptivity to the spiritual and artistic needs of others – could be the key to your fame and fortune. It is likely that you may be feeling the turn of the cultural tide, that you may be sensitive to the unspoken needs of the masses, and that you may be able to provide the cure for what ails them or the nourishment that feeds their soul. The tricky part may be that you are included in this equation. As you’re figuring it out for the masses, you’re figuring it out for yourself. The foundation for your success is an enlightened platform you’re able to build and solidify for yourself. Your rebellious nature, ability to predict trends, and to feel the outlines of the future before the rest, works in your favor. Use your contacts, collaborate with others, but insist on creative control. You are the natural leader and authority. It may become abundantly clear how deeply qualified you are to take on the role that brings all aspects of your creative being into play.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
You know how to be successful. You’ve honed your craft, developed your style, purified your intentions, and essentially become successful in a field that may have never been a safe bet. Your optimism, focus, and belief in yourself propelled you to the top. Now it’s time for you to use what you know to free yourself for the adventure of a lifetime. There is something more that represents your next challenge. Maybe you expand your reach, travel to distant corners of the earth, and freely indulge yourself in what you love most. It may be time for a more self-centered approach. There’s the suggestion that you’ve paid your dues. Stick with what you know or challenge yourself to infuse your life with more joy. What you want may seem wild and crazy to others. But it doesn’t matter. If you’ve been meaning to learn a new language, time to set that in motion with focused effort. There are many reasons to deny yourself what you love most – but none of them are actually valid.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
A less structured, more open and flexible approach to life may be required. The methodical formulas you’ve developed in the past may not be able to transform the parts of you that actually need to be transformed. You need some luck to land you in a place you want to be and you’re not especially good at relying on luck. You’re used to relying on your ability to work circles around others, to stay focused, and to put your emotional needs on hold. For you that’s not the key to the future. You need more. You need to perfect the skill of expecting that things will work out well, that you can count on the universe to support you, that you can trust and follow your gut feeling, embrace serendipitous experiences, and open yourself to new, more expansive opportunities. What is required is the willingness to take on a different kind of challenge and to move beyond simply practicing what you’re already good it. That approach has taken you as far as you can go. It’s time to up your game in an area that feels unfamiliar. You love a challenge though, and this one belongs to you.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
It seems you’ve about healed yourself of some old trauma that took a toll. You did what was required to transform and heal yourself. It was intense and maybe extreme. Now it’s time to relax into a more sustainable, balanced place. Hyper-vigilance may no longer be necessary. Recovering a sense of balance seems to entail the ability to soften, to relax, and to realize that things don’t have to be as hard as they used to be. You’re probably out of the danger zone though you may not yet be comfortable with crossing over that threshold. It’s ok to work but it’s also ok to relax. It’s ok to engage your mind but maybe better to engage your heart. It’s time to lighten up and return to a state of “normalcy” – whatever that means for an Aquarian – and a return to trusting your body, your senses, your intuition, and whatever brings you joy. Music, art, beauty, and love are prescribed in large doses. Time for a relaxing vacation, good food, and a comforting receptivity to the supportive nature of the universe. Err on the side of going easy on yourself. It’s all about balance and the ability to freely choose what’s right for you.

PISCES (February 21-March 21)
This is a week when you may feel the heavy weight of responsibility resting on your shoulders. It may involve the feeling that you need to do better within the realm of relationships, that you need to change something about your approach, or that you might need to clarify what’s wrong first – if there is anything wrong. It may all be confusing as usual. You may feel like you’re in over your head, or powerless to fix what needs to be fixed – even if you could figure out exactly what needs fixing. Let’s just say it’s easy for Pisces to get enmeshed in the psychic lives of others. Maybe you just need to let go and let the universe work it out. There is plenty for you to focus on in the area of your work life. You seem to be on fire with creative ideas, stellar performances, and maybe the ability to channel information and inspiration to be of invaluable assistance to others. Opportunities for a bigger audience may come your way. You can afford to be discriminating, though. Maybe a bigger audience doesn’t fit with your long term vision of creating a work life you truly love. But maybe it does. This is an exciting time for you. Enjoy.
