New Horoscopes for the Week of Feb. 12th – 18th

OVERVIEW

This week the Sun completes it’s trek through the disruptive, future-oriented, freedom-loving sign of Aquarius. A confrontation between old and new intensifies. Something revolutionary and edgy continues to enlivened and illuminate a specific area of personal life experience. General progress in the form of foundational breakdown accelerates.

Updating an old way of being or stale social scene might seem important. Making a break for freedom, activism for the sake of justice, and taking action to actualize a life-long dream makes sense. This week illumination of the nature of your most unique contribution to the world clarifies. Friendships turn into love.

On Thursday, February 13th Venus squares the North and South Nodes. This is decision time. It represents a pivotal turning point with profound and beneficial implications. You’ll have the option of sticking with the past and what you know or to moving forward toward something less controllable but more emotionally satisfying. Restrictions can feel stabilizing but it’s likely you’ve outgrown them to the point where you’ll feel increasingly confined by them and more capable of breaking free.

On Sunday February 16th, Mars enters the sign of Capricorn. You’re newly motivated to apply self-discipline and focus to the actions you take. You might begin to rein things in through a well thought out plan, schedule, or deadline.

However we’re being challenged to gain any traction at all because Mercury in Pisces turns retrograde on the same day Mars enters the sign of Capricorn.

Mercury begins it’s retrograde phase at 12 degrees Pisces on Sunday Feb. 16th. What we’ve figured out, decided, planned, arranged or developed can slip away. Confusion reigns. We might need to take a step back and reconsider. Maybe an important factor is beyond our control. People change their minds. Schedules are interpreted as simply a suggestion. Information is unreliable and in flux. (Mercury turns back into direct motion on March 10).

Mercury retrograde might bring you back to an issue that needs to be resolved. Decisions put on the back burner are revived and demand your attention. You’re tempted to ignore difficulties and hope they’ll go away. In Pisces that’s easy. But side-stepping a decision is a decision you’ll have to own around March 10th.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18th at 11:57 PM Eastern time the Sun enters the sign of Pisces. This is generally a month long wash-out/ending phase particularly relevant for those born in the sign of Aries. A strong dissolution effect takes hold. What we’ve struggled to hold onto is diluted and dissolved. More slip-sliding, poor concentration, and feelings of being neither here nor there can be frustrating. But ultimately a new path forward is being cleared for you.

New beginnings involve compassion, spiritual support, and the ability to gestate a project, idea, or creative impulse into being.

Inspiration becomes easier to access as we rise above challenges, road-blocks, and ego-driven desires to start something new.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
Mars moves into the sign of Capricorn on Sunday Feb.16th accompanied by Mercury’s move into retrograde motion. On one hand it becomes necessary to apply a level of self-discipline and focus to your actions. You might develop specific plans, schedules, or deadlines in the interest of manifesting a goal. But what we’ve figured out, decided, planned, or arranged tends to slip away or amount to less than expected. Unreliability or lack of cooperation may be a factor. Things beyond your control interfere. Something secret and somewhat undermining – or something creative in the process of gestating into solid form slowly takes shape. But there are lots of things in the life of an Aries that now need to be released and hauled away – or given away. Between Feb 20th and March 21st is the designated time for cleaning the slate in preparation for a new beginning. There is a decision to made involving the choice between something deeply satisfying and something you’re simply able to tolerate. Home, family, roots, warmth, protection, and comfort might define a more emotionally satisfying direction than the drive for success within the public realm.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Something bold and courageous existing within the deepest recesses of your mind and heart is encouraging you to choose a more emotionally satisfying life direction. This would seem to involve a release of any fear you harbor regarding the future or your ability to believe deeply in yourself, another, or a higher power. A more satisfying direction involves staying in the present moment, being aware of the nature of your mindset any given moment, telling yourself and others the truth, and appreciating what’s right in front of you. There’s a message about sharing the wisdom you’ve accumulated through direct experience – with yourself. Between Feb. 16th and March 10th is a time when you can reconsider something related to your social life, abuse, neglect, confusion, mixed messages, or a lack of appreciation. Something involving mothering and disconnection gets easier.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Between Feb. 16th and March 10th Mercury retrogrades in your 10th house house of your highest aims for yourself and your life. Something you missed regarding your life direction or interaction with the public but have yet to resolve is once again presented for your review. The Sun illuminates future (unusual) possibilities that may impact your profession. It’s time to chose to stick with the past or to move forward with courage and boldness in a more emotionally satisfying direction. Your choice seems to involve concentrating and focusing your energy on what you value most and what feels most emotionally satisfying in terms of your contribution to another, the family, and the world at large. It seems wise to move away from other’s opinions regarding of your most valuable contribution. Mars moves into your 8th house where deep introspection involving financial relationships and the balance of power is taken more seriously or newly structured in some way. The Sun expands your reach into the future and what it currently difficult to imagine in terms of your power to lift yourself into the world of something supernatural. How you will integrate magic into your life’s work enters an important reconsideration phase.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
A most consequential decision you’re being compelled to make involves sticking with the tried and true and what’s familiar vs. moving forward into less predictable but potentially more deeply satisfying territory. Accommodating cold, restrictive, disconnected relationships may feel second nature to you. Reliable partners you’re financially dependent upon may not be able to provide the things you need in order to feel emotionally satisfied. It might be the right time to become more emotionally involved in cultivating financial independence, the courage to act in your own behalf, to take the bull by the horns, and to make the kind of emotional impact you want to make possibly within the public arena. Figuratively throwing yourself into an environment where you have to sink or swim could work to your advantage. Between Feb 16th and March 10th you might re-think your future and the strength of your faith in yourself. The Sun in Aquarius continues to illuminate things you didn’t realize about yourself. Future (dreamy) possibilities may soon require direct action to manifest the level of success you’re capable of manifesting.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Something advantageous and supportive involving the future influences your decision to stick with a restrictive/fear-filled past or to move forward into something more creative, sublime, spiritually uplifting, and magically aligned. A harsh, restrictive daily routine or unhealthy environment is something you know how to tolerate. You may feel some sense of accomplishment in being tough enough to tolerate and survive conditions that most could not survive over the long term. You’ve probably proven you can do it. But the law of diminishing returns seems to be kicking in. Now is a time when you can choose something more emotionally satisfying – kinder, softer, and less potentially debilitating. This week represents a pivotal turning point with consequential long term effects. Between February 16th and March 10th it will be time to rethink a power balance (imbalance) the nature of a financial partnership, and possibly the subtle abusive elements involved. The Sun in your 7th house of relationships highlights the birth/loss/death/and rebirth cycle of life. The rebirth of something more emotionally satisfying is the most important consideration.

VIRGO (August 21-Sep 21)
A talent for psychological assessment, delving beneath the surface of consciousness, deep transformative change, and the integration of occult power might be slowly moving you in the direction of considering a new direction. It’s time to decide between sticking with what you know and are comfortable with and moving forward toward something more emotionally satisfying – possibly within the social realm. Your original dreams, hopes, and wishes for your life might need to be considered. Maybe you have the allies you need further develop your talents or to support a creative business venture. Or maybe you a new love interest (a friend who’s become more) wanders onto the scene. Whatever the emerging picture it’s time to move away from feelings of un-deservingness and limited aspirations – as dubiously comfortable and familiar those might feel. Deciding to stick with what is vs. moving forward is consequential. Between Feb 16th and March 10th is a time to rethink something sacrificial or abusive within the realm of relationships. The Sun’s final week in your 6th house of routine encourages you to stir things up in ways that intensify the healing process.

LIBRA (September 21 – October 21)
Some advantage/courage/or bold action within the realm of relationships gives you the freedom to decide whether to stick with the past or to move into a future with potential for deeper emotional satisfaction. Home and family might historically represent difficult, restrictive, painful patterns. Repeating inherited patterns mimicking emotional disconnection and disappointment might be a dubiously comfortable place for you to be. Achieving your highest aim, though, essentially involves the embrace of something warm, personal, safe, connected, heartfelt, and empathetic with regard to public and professional interactions. The cold world becomes less cold because you lead the way toward something more supportive within a potentially threatening environment. It’s an emotionally satisfying way of being for you. It might be time to develop or dedicate yourself to what you love most. Something involving your daily routine, work, or health needs to be rethought or rearranged between Feb. 16th and March 10th. It might involve turning an interest or hobby you love into a service you provide.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Mercury’s move into retrograde motion on Feb. 16th encourages you to revisit an issue involving children, lovers, the exuberant expression of your talents, and possibly some corresponding sacrifice. Something slippery and disconnected from practical (social) considerations may be ripe for reconsideration. You might feel that you are (once again) losing an important piece of yourself. Something highly energized, romantic, or unreal may obscure some insidious damage taking place. It’s decision time – time to consider a change in focus and/or life direction. Your independence, courage, and support with daily responsibilities may give you the freedom to move away from restrictive ideas, limited possibilities, depressing thoughts, or the assumption that you’ll never be able to sustain a positive mindset – especially with regard to future possibilities. Now is a time when you can believe in yourself, something bigger, freer, and more deeply satisfying – possibly on a global (foreign) scale. It might be satisfying (and healing) to get out of your head (or to use your head) to expand what feels emotionally safe but still exciting.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
This week Venus in bold, courageous, independent Aries encourages you to demand something more deeply satisfying to you – especially as it relates to intimate relationships, financial partnerships, and trust. Financial rather than emotional considerations may have dominated your scene for awhile. Now you’re being challenged to turn the page in the direction of considerations that involve what feels deeply nourishing to you. You may require a tuned-in, emotionally available, introspective partner. Releasing a fear may be part of the emerging picture. Between Feb.16th and March 10th you may need to rethink issues involving home, family, and the freedoms you sacrifice for security. The Sun finishes it’s trek through the sign of Aquarius on Feb. 18th. Something is softly illuminated on the home front. It may appear on the surface to be something undermining or negative. But ultimately it could serve to disrupt what keeps you locked in. You may begin to see things in a different light. Something timely and supernatural (out of your control) intervenes.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Something bold, courageous, and fortunate involving home, family, and sources of security encourage you to make a change – to choose between the past and a new, more emotionally satisfying forward direction. The choice may revolve around familiar restrictions related to fear, inflexibility, a controlling approach vs. something more emotionally satisfying and tuned-in regarding a partnership or marriage. Sticking with your old ways might feel debilitating but comfortable. Change might feel like hurling your yourself off a cliff. (I’m exaggerating slightly). But it’s time to decide which way you’ll go. What you choose is consequential. This is a pivotal turning point particularly as it relates to relationships. Rethinking old decisions is facilitated by Mercury’s turn into retrograde motion. But something disruptive to an old set of values might serve to set you free. Your sense of self-worth might be energized and fortified. You are able, therefore, to approach change with greater self-assurance.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
A pleasant but challenging/courageous conversation or change of heart may have pushed you in the direction of deciding between sticking with the old – or venturing into new territory. You have a “talent” for delaying gratification and stoically tolerating emotional restrictions along the course of your daily routines. But days turn into months, and months into years. It may be time to change course. Thinking in terms of daily routines what kind of daily experiences would feel most nourishing and deeply satisfying to you? It might be time to consider a fairly extreme change in circumstances – a total reversal. As the Sun finishes it’s trek through your first house of exciting new beginnings it’s time to solidify and concentrate your energy toward something that nourishes what you value most. Between now and March 10th you could recover something of value that had slipped away.
pisces otherworldly
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces is on the verge of a new beginning toward the end of the week. The final stages of a cleaning/clearing process in preparation for a new beginning is almost complete. Lots of inner disruption, anxiety, and memories involving the “as yet incomplete” healing of a significant loss have been quietly endured. But something creatively significant – a new seed planted a little over three weeks ago – will begin to bear fruit and be visible for all to see in about a week. In the meantime we are encouraged to choose something more emotionally satisfying than what we’ve experienced in the past. Emotional satisfaction more than anything else is the most accurate determinator of whether or not we’re on the right track. For Pisces this could involve a move away from a love that restricts and confines in favor of love that is exuberantly expressive, proud, playful, confident, caring and full of joy.
