Horoscopes for the Week of Nov. 9th – 15th

(Mosaic Art – Sophie Verrecchia)

Cosmically it’s an eventful week. Emotionally I’m stunned, but here goes.

Mars, newly in the sign of Aquarius, is unpredictable (obviously) – a wild card inclined to play his own game, to make up his own rules, to shake up the status quo, while destroying complacency. He is a wake-up call unopposed to creating chaos wherever organization impedes progress. He has no respect for “authority” or for the “chain of command.” His fight is for what he defines as progress, justice, freedom, reform, and self-determination. If he has to burn down the house to achieve his version of what that is, so be it.

On Friday Venus moves into the sign of Capricorn. The party’s over. Harsh realities need to be faced within the realm of relationships, finance, and the free flow of feminine progress, power, and influence. Generating hope for the future requires a relentless focused effort – a disciplined mindset, a “big picture” perspective, a sense of humor, and a refusal to succumb.

Mercury transits into the sign of Sagittarius on Monday. Mind expansion is indicated but caution is advised. If more mental space makes room for more pessimism and fear, that’s a destructive development. Mars in Aquarius is very strong-willed. That’s energy you can use to your advantage.

Sagittarius is adept at imagining a future that feels joyful and inspiring. But Saturn’s current position in the sign of Sagittarius has been making that especially challenging since December of 2014. Now, free of the “half-awake, half-asleep,” hazy influence of the Neptune square, we feel the harshness of a “Saturnian reality” full force.

Saturn is testing you, providing the necessary circumstances for you to rise above doubt, pessimism, and a disheartened existence. He’s challenging you to be resilient and to take some steps to create a better future for yourself despite set-backs.

Saturn throws roadblocks onto your path in the form of circumstances that are not easy to overcome. Required is the need wake up and to grow up, to develop in ways you feel like resisting. Difficult decisions and the willingness to risk a safe, subdued life may be required.

The quality of the future you create for yourself influences the nature of your impact on the world – for better or worse. Saturn asks you to choose and to commit – or un-commit. If it feels easy and risk-free, you’re probably on the wrong track.

On Monday a Taurus full Moon brings an end to an old form of stability and sameness that has outlived its usefulness. Resistance to change begins to dissolve. The restructuring of priorities, cherished values, and long-standing ‘ways of being’ is set in motion. In the interest of balance, overwhelming complications encourage simplification and savoring. Time to discover the comfort seemingly small, insignificant things can bring.

Wishing you a mass infusion of hope and resilience for the upcoming week.

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
The next phase for you is a period of time when you learn to be more of a team player, less involved in showing off, highlighting your importance, dramatically demonstrating your talents, and insisting that when all is right with the world, it basically revolves around you. Mars, newly in the sign of Aquarius provides a counter-weight when egotistical tendencies arise. Aquarius fights you when your ego takes over, but his heart melts when you exude the warmth and love that resides abundantly within you. You have more talent than you know what to do with. At this moment, though, its love and an open heart that feeds the masses. If you find your audience to be more demanding of a flashy, impressive show, find a different audience. Move onto the kinder, gentler, more humanitarian crowd who simply needs you to be your naturally lovable self.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Taurus is under the influence of an impending full Moon in their sign. Next Monday the full Moon culminates at 22 degrees Taurus. This is a stressful time. Change is always difficult for you. You tend to put up a heroic resistance before resigning yourself to the inevitable. Mars in Aquarius presents you with the unexpected. If there’s one thing you despise more than change it’s an unpredictable wild card thrown into the mix. Life has destabilized in some way for you, but it’s freed up the energy you used to consume resisting change. What will you do with that extra energy? This week it’s time to get serious about your future, to work on creating more space for yourself and maybe a lover, to develop a detailed plan, and maybe a timeline. It’s time to clarify what you need and what you don’t need. It’s time to communicate clearly to whoever may be confused or in a position to throw a monkey wrench into the works. You may need to defend your right to change course and to trail blaze a path that defies convention.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
A full Moon is coalescing within the hidden realms of your being, stirring up vague, old feelings related to times when you needed to stabilize yourself by allowing something familiar and comfortable to dissolve. Gemini has a hidden resistance to change. But it’s not readily recognizable to those who don’t know you well. Destabilization feels deeply threatening to you. But, ironically, you have in your possession a deep reservoir of resources that allow you to re-group effectively and gracefully. What is it that needs to dissolve? Maybe the current party’s about over and it’s time to get serious about your financial future. Freeing yourself to lead an independent, adventurous, joy-filled life requires a sustainable plan, an understanding about shared responsibility, and a future vision that is agreed upon. Time to dissolve old patterns that made similar challenges difficult in the past.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)
Cancer is primed for relationship bliss. You could make it all complicated. It certainly has the makings of a tangled mess. But more likely you’ll be inclined to savor the moment, to simplify, to intensely engage in sensual pleasure, and sexual delight. It’s all very life enhancing, but it takes willingness and a shrewd approach to allow potential darkness to dissolve into the background as you elevate and insist upon pleasure. Mars defends your right to free yourself from old psychological hang-ups, from cultural expectations, and social proprieties. There is wisdom in your approach, most likely born of experience. You walk a fine line as you brilliantly orchestrate a loving masterpiece that had the potential to devolve into something ordinary or worse. It’s a victory of light over darkness, of courage over fear, and life over death. Congratulations in advance.

LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Leo is being challenged to see his way through darkness, to shine a light so that others can see there way through, to protect the spark within that guarantees the perpetual flame will never be extinguished, and to be mindful of his purpose for existing. A reminder – that is to re-ignite life within those who’ve forgotten what it feels like to be alive. Your job is an important and mostly enjoyable one. But when you feel the weight of darkness and fear engulfing you (and many others) your job can feel overwhelming. This week you’re being tested. Can you keep your own abundant passion for life alive as the world needs you more than ever to express your purpose forcefully. You’re the life raft. You signed up for this at some point in a past life. You can do it. When you feel your energy waning consult with your council of ancestors – those relatives who have died but are now easily accessible and capable of re-igniting and inspiring you when you need it most. Think of it as a team rather than isolated effort.

VIRGO (August 21-September 21)
Interestingly Virgo may the sign most willing to ride the tide of change and to latch onto opportunities that come his way. Saturn’s been battering his meticulous, self-sacrificing, guild-ridden, overly responsible approach to life since December of 2014. He’s now primed and softened to the idea that there is another, more joyful form of existence within the realm of possibility. As Mercury moves into the sign of Sagittarius, you may be more hopeful than usual. As you solidify a kinder, gentler relationship with yourself, you open the floodgates to a flow of abundance. Expect this week, that as Venus moves into your 5th house of creativity – particularly as that relates to business, organizational structuring, and money, – you will be moving forward with greater ease. As a side note, this is a particularly good time to begin to let go of the mind-trap that encourages you to believe that you need to earn love. You don’t. Even if you became self-satisfied and lazy, you’d still be your innately lovable self.

LIBRA (September 21-October 21)
A shift may be felt this week as Venus moves from the sign of Sagittarius into Capricorn. Venus’s move triggers Pluto and your 4th house of home, family, roots, and foundational emotional strength. Most likely there exists, within the realm of past relationships, of a type of love that’s been painful but persistent, solid but limited, and rarely expressed or clearly communicated, but understood. Traditionally, forefront in your mind, may be all the ways love has fallen short for you. But Venus makes it easier for you to put past relationships into a broader, kinder perspective – to see old relationships through new eyes, to appreciate persistent but awkward efforts to love you, despite personal limitations and imperfection. It’s time, as well, for you to appreciate how your attempts to meet others half-way has evolved into something heart-warming and solid. Ironically and seemingly unrelated, a shift in perspective toward family and past relationships frees you to pursue something more professionally fulfilling.

SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Scorpio is in the process of gestating an entirely new and different kind of relationship with themselves. This week that process is facilitated as you experience a wake-up call that shakes loose the past in ways that can feel destabilizing and unexpected. Encroaching darkness in the form of repeatedly thwarted desires can trigger fear and anger. What’s essential is that you cling to your essential nature during this process of change and upheaval. It may be time to defend your unique and eccentric soul, your experimental, freedom-loving nature, your need to socialize, to be intellectually stimulated, to be independent and free to make it up as you go along. It is possible that your defense of your soul may inconvenience others. The alternative is a type of internal chaos that is unnecessary and avoidable. The eccentric warrior is your live-in friend for awhile. He’s reconnecting you to your sacred core. That allows you maximum freedom to grow and change in ways that feel right but might raise a few eyebrows.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21- December 21)
It may be time for a reshuffling of the deck, putting an end to some old habit or pattern that keeps you from gaining the type of traction you need manifest a dream. Emphasized now is the development of a different kind of relationship with the part of yourself that needs to make a dream come true. Having compromised and maybe over-compromised in the past, a correction is now possible. It starts with a personal acknowledgement of the need for a shake-up, the need to fight for a vision for your future that may seem t others odd, non-traditional, or risky. Maybe you need to initiate a difficult conversation with someone who would prefer to pretend that your dreams can be put on hold indefinitely. Maybe that someone is you. Maybe it’s someone you love and cherish. Reality is sinking in in terms of the passage of time. A window may be closing as you delay, procrastinate, and delude yourself into thinking you have all the time in the world to manifest your dream. You don’t.

CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Capricorn is yet again challenged to become intimately acquainted with the part of himself he’d prefer to disown – the part that craves adventure, foreign adventure, more freedom, and a future that inspires and excites. What is required now is a different, more expansive, and exciting relationship with your professional life and life direction. It’s time to get serious about changing your approach to allow for more freedom to explore and travel. It’s not that you can’t survive without that. Yo can make the best of what you have now. But it’s not necessary. The world (especially the professional world) is full of exciting opportunities you haven’t yet considered. You owe it to yourself to investigate new possibilities. It’s time to fight old psychologic conditioning that encourages caution and self-restraint.. You have nothing left to prove in that regard. Been there, done that. Can you find a brilliant, innovative, new way to support yourself through something that doesn’t force you to disown parts of yourself? That’s the nature of your current challenge.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarius is best equipped to take full advantage of a world in chaos. There is something about new potential and expanding possibilities that arises during times of upheaval and instability that can feel freeing and hopeful to an Aquarian. Real progress is possible once old, authoritative structures are destroyed. Under these unique circumstances, Aquarians are energized. A revolutionary type of resistance to the way we’ve always done things may now be within the realm of possibility. What was once unquestionable can now be questioned. Perpetual war, environmental destruction, inhumane hierarchies, and inequality are part of an old order that has now become shaky and vulnerable. Dark possibilities exist, but so do brilliant, life-enhancing ones. No one is more capable of finding the opportunity in chaos and pouncing on it than you. It may be time to spring into action, Aquarius. It may be time to lead.
pisces otherworldly
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
for the next year Pisces is in the process of massive, rapid, and relatively easy transformation and healing. There is a rhythmic flow that’s building momentum capable of washing away accumulated toxic waste. You may notice your relationship with yourself changing. You may be finding fewer excuses to justify a fearful, restrained existence. Joy, like a long-lost friend, knocks on your door occasionally and you might feel more comfortable letting him in for awhile. What’s most promising may be a revival or expansion of your sex life. Sex is a primal power that when blocked or shamed into non-existence can become incredibly destructive. The implications are far-reaching and, on some level, life threatening. What suffers most is your ability to freely and forcefully create, to put your personal stamp on the world, to feel energized, effective, and capable of initiating something significant. That’s all coming to life within you. A future of inspiring possibility is now within reach.
