(Mosaic Artist – Alex Knapic)
Mercury in Libra, its current placement, looks for ways to connect, to create elegant solution and alternatives to conflict, to restore balance, and to soothe the soul through thoughtfully chosen words. But Mercury may be thrown off balance and challenged by a dominant group of Aries placements – Eris (the powerful goddess of discord), Uranus (notoriously agitated by too much peace and harmony) and Ceres, now feeling the need to restore herself by taking sides and engaging in a fight.
It may be time to fight. At stake may be your future threatened in some way by heartless opportunists. Money may be the issue. But the deeper challenge is the requirement that you act from a place of integrity and self-respect by demonstrating the courage to fight for what is sacred and meaningful to you. An additional requirement may be that you create an alternative vision to what’s currently being presented.
The Sun moves into Scorpio on Monday. This changes your focus. Now your sense of identity revolves around destroying something toxic so that your life can flourish. Over the next month it’s wise to focus on letting go of what you no longer need. Over the next month clearing out closets, files, emotional attachments, people, places, and things that no longer “bring you joy” is a process that might feel relatively easy and cosmically facilitated. I see a few trips to “Good Will in your future – maybe to your therapist, exorcist, or the nutritionist specializing in detox as well. The occult is symbolized by the sign of Scorpio, so a visit to your astrologer, tarot card reader, or shaman might be wise as well.
Mercury transit into Scorpio this week as well, nudging your thoughts in the direction of death, sex, betrayals, and difficult experiences that have transformed and strengthened you. This week you may find yourself feeling your way through a complicated maze of hidden objectives, ulterior motives, suspicions about siblings and neighbors, and personal attempts to keep it “light and friendly” when it feels overpowering and potentially devastating. Over the next few weeks you may put the pieces of your life together in a way that clarifies for you what is essential, deeply meaningful, unchanging, and timeless.
Venus, newly in the sign of Sagittarius, re-ignites your sense of humor. That alone can move things in the right direction. Through the Scorpio heaviness an abundance of joy may simply find its way to you. It feels better to give than to receive always, but especially when Venus is in Sagittarius.
Have a great week and thanks for reading,

ARIES (March 21-April 21)
As the week begins you may feel the gravity of a challenge that requires you to take control over the direction of your life. It may shake you to your core and demands that you focus your power and energy to carve out a new, more independent, and authoritative, social role for yourself. This is not the time to lose your nerve or to take short cuts. Your sense of identity – the way you define yourself to yourself – is undergoing a critical transformational change that involves releasing the anger that distorts your life direction. Sunlight is nature’s natural disinfectant. On Saturday, and for the next month, your old psychological conditioning will be exposed to relentless cosmic “sunlight.” Your motives, power plays, personal betrayals, anger, and resentment will be highlighted and healed revealing the depth of your essential goodness. Freedom replaces old self-imposed limitations as your world expands.
TAURUS (April 21-May 21)
Since December of 2014 you’ve been engaged in a painful “letting go process” that required effort and a relentless struggle to restore belief in yourself and your potential to create an open-ended life full of adventure and joy. Now it seems you have experienced some significant success. The hard, decision-making part may be over. From now through November 12th it’s wise for you to take a break, to coast for awhile, and to simply feel the depth of the joy – and possibly sexual/sensual adventurousness – that may be reignited within. It may be time to change your appearance in some way – a new hairstyle, new clothes, a more confidence way of carrying yourself – something that broadcasts to the world (and to yourself) that you’re much different than you were in December of 2014 – more optimistic, less confined, proud of yourself and your ability to overcome what once threatened your survival.
Gemini may be experiencing a push-pull type of resistance in their life – the feeling that others may be working against you, that you’re engaged in a tug-of-war on some level, a struggle for the upper-hand, a desire for peaceful resolution as opposed to fully engaging in all-out war. You may be struggling to keep things light and friendly as you attempt to keep irritability and anger under control. Physically your body may be feeling the effete of some heaviness and stress. You may feels rather powerless and dependent on those who operate according to their own agenda whether or not it’s fair to you. By Monday things change. More effort from you may be required in areas of organization, efficiency, developing better habits, better routines, and improving skills. The bigger theme is that over the next month you will be filling in the gaps of your personality, moving through a cycle that raises you to a higher level of competence in all area of your life.
Cancer strives to win and to accomplish goals by “killing them with kindness.” Underlying Cancer’s ambition is the notion that their real strength lies within an inherited sense of refinement, kindness, the urge to soothe and connect, to beautify and to sow the seeds of peace. This week you have the opportunity to do something practical and kind to advance your goals. Infusing joy, laughter, and fun into your workplace, beautifying your work environment, supporting a co-worker, or making a habit of feeling responsible for infusing kindness into whatever environment you find yourself could advance your goals. For the next month it’s time to think critically about how you relate to others, how responsible you feel for infusing joy into your work, and how that, more than anything, determines how healthy and successful you will be.
LEO (July 21-Aug 21)
Leo may feel themselves moving from the land of socially acceptable, light-hearted friendliness, into the land of the dark and dangerous – not literally, but more in terms of the territory your mind will tend to wander into. You may be laser focused on past betrayals. Your suspicious nature may experience a renaissance. You may feel that an interloper has entered onto the scene messing with any previous security you may have felt about the nature of your home, family, or the past. On one level it’s deeply disturbing. On another level it’s a chance to replay an old family drama, this time giving yourself a different role. Where before you may have felt powerless to fend off threats, now you’re not. You’re capable of chasing away the bad guys. You’re smarter now and more experienced. You recognize sinister motives and threats when you see them. You can present yourself as a force to be reckoned with by knowing the facts, preparing your approach, and exhibiting the quiet confidence that says “I’ve got this.” The nature of your current challenge has the potential to free you from old response patterns and a tendency to underestimate yourself.
Virgo may be encouraged this week to advocate as much for themselves as they do for others. It is time to be more generous, but it’s time to think of that in broader terms – more generous to others, but more generous to yourself as well. If you think of generosity in terms of making yourself more useful to others – providing them with something that they want- you must balance that by inviting others to be more useful to you. Self-sacrifice tends not to pay off this week unless it’s balanced by a healthy dose of self-indulgence and the enforcement of a balanced give and take. If I had to err on one side or another I would err on the side of putting myself first, making sure I got what I wanted. If there was anything left over, certainly I’d consider sharing. But if not, I wouldn’t stress. This way of operating may feel unnatural to a Virgo, but the scales have become unbalanced. It’s time to rethink whether or not your relationship with yourself is fair. It’s time to recalibrate before an infusion of Scorpio energy tempts you into the land of seething resentment.
Libra may currently be experiencing a renaissance of their belief in the notion that an epic, romantic, love affair will save them from a humdrum existence. You may feel that a chance meeting with the long lost, but destined love of your life is imminent and that a torrid, intimate affair will naturally follow. Soon to be set in stone is what was always meant to be. If you’re currently finding lots of reasons to resist my prediction then this horoscope may not be for you. But if you’ve avoided cynicism here’s my advice. You may be more likely to recognize the significance of the “chance meeting” if you’re in an unusually relaxed and hyper-aware state. You may have to exert some effort to remember your dreams, to deliberately calm down, to frequent places where you feel relaxed and safe. Small efforts yield big results. Venus is in an unusually generous mood and she want nothing more than for you to recognize her gift of love.
SCORPIO (October 21 – November 21)
Scorpio is at the end of the road in some sense. One more phase of intense encounters with yourself and your pain, then it’s basically over – if you let it be. Suffering was necessary for you – for transformation and growth – but it’s nearing it’s expiration date and the point at which it becomes pointless. It is likely that you have extracted all you can from misery and the kind of love that tends to fairly consistently let you down. You’ve learned to dull the pain but every once in awhile there are twinges that momentarily feel excruciating. Interestingly your getting a little taste of the joy and freedom that might lie just beyond – a teaser that propels you into considering the notion of saying goodbye. There is life after death – and Scorpio dies a thousand deaths, each time rising from the ashes in the form of the great Phoenix. So now it’s time to develop a strategy to prepare yourself for a new, more joy-filled existence. The ingredients of that strategy would be more compassion for yourself, gratitude for what pain has taught you, and forgiveness for those who have betrayed you in the most painful ways.
Sagittarius is the sign in charge of putting things in their proper perspective – through humor mainly, but they do have other strategies as well. Sagittarius has lots of direct experience with life that may span the globe and represent a wide variety of interactions with many different kinds of people. As a result Sagittarius tends not to blow things out of proportion. He recognizes the trivial as trivial. He sifts through irrelevance to highlight what’s truly meaningful. You, Sagittarius, are the wise teacher. It is likely this week that you will find a place where your wisdom is much needed. There is some nonsense going on within your vicinity that could be unnecessarily costly. There is some pettiness that is passing for something meaningful. There is the deliberate distortion of an argument that would allow the “wrong side” to win. There is a sleight of hand that compels us to look in the wrong direction. It’s time for you to work your magic. It’s time for you to point out what’s important and what’s not – in a humorous way if possible. That is your gift and its time to be very generous.
CAPRICORN (December 21-January 21)
Capricorn is being challenged to wield the power they have in the best possible ways. Mars and Pluto align in Capricorn greatly magnifying your usual force and influence. So you have a choice. Now you could undermine others and easily get away with it. You could lie convincingly, fail to say the words that you know would support and comfort, pretend you don’t have the means to be more generous, retreat into a state of remote emotional unavailability, take advantage of another’s mistake, or use the power you have to advance yourself at the expense of others. Or you could use this temporary magnification of power to lift up the masses – maybe not single handedly, but possibly as the leader of a group dedicated to the common good. You could arrange for your success to be everyone’s success. You could heal some pain you previously felt justified inflicting. You could say you’re sorry and make amends. With great power comes great responsibility. Those could be your words to live by this week – and always.
AQUARIUS (January 21-February 21)
Aquarius may be facing a challenge to their future and the future of there dreams. But recently there’s been an infusion of assistance – like-minded allies willing to contribute knowledge and know-how to save what needs to be saved. Maybe there’s a greater willingness on your part to learn something new so that you can be an inspiring spokesperson for a group and a worthy cause. It’s time for you to organize your thoughts, to identify your strongest weapon, to passionately advocate for the sacredness of links to the past, and the common good. It’s time for you to practice effectively making your case. It’s time for you to be a strategic and valuable team player as your passion for a progressive cause transcends your need for independence, going your own way, and doing your own thing. Prepare to defend yourself against the powerful enemies allied against you. Most likely they reside within the deepest recesses of your mind.
PISCES (February 21-March 21)
Pisces may come crashing down to earth as a result of some challenge they’re afraid to face. But they may feel, for a change, that there is no way out. Maybe they don’t want to let others down. Maybe it’s time, as the last full Moon suggested, that you prove, once and for all, that you are who you say you are. If universal brotherhood and love are the ingredients you are made of, then it’s time to demonstrate that. It’s time to stop fantasizing about a low key escape through one of your usual escape routes. It’s time to do what you’ve often been heard advising others to do. What you’re really good at is bypassing the brain and going straight for the heart. If you have to speak, choose impassioned words that might make tears flow for those who suffer in silence. Choose words that highlight our common humanity and our connection to one another. Choose strategies that consider the longings of the soul to belong to something greater. There is no replacement for you. A photograph is worth a thousand words.
