On Saturday, June 7th, at 4:56 AM PDT, Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks. An impending “pause in the action” allows time to reconsider the facts, revisit communication issues, renegotiate contracts, and review paperwork. Delays seem almost inevitable, but there’s a method to the cosmic madness. It’s likely that we’ve missed something as Mercury wizzed by the first time. Now we have a chance to go back and recover it. Like watching a slow-motion video, we have time to identify an important detail, a missing piece, or a distorted perspective.
Neptune turns retrograde as well on Monday, June 9th, at 12:50 PM PDT and stays retrograde through the first half of November. This is a time when we become more sensitive, more receptive, and more intuitive. Emphasized is our ability to see and feel more acutely. Our perspective changes as a result. It’s important, over the next several months, to address problems we may be avoiding, areas where we’ve become lax, prone to minimizing, exaggerating, or insistent on denying some inconvenient reality.
Now, as Neptune retrogrades, we have the opportunity to acknowledge and eliminate addictions that have developed slowly and insidiously. over time.
This week we build toward some “culmination of effort” as the fullness of the Moon increases. Heightened sensitivity seems to be the emerging theme of the week. Trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to reverse course if you feel guided in that direction.
As always, thanks for reading and have an insightful week!
Aries may be struggling with how an imbalanced partner, or imbalanced relationships strongly influence their ability to act decisively, confidently, and effectively. They may feel that energy they need is being wasted by some struggle that has nothing to do with them and everything to do with a partner or “another” getting their “act” together. Your astrology this week suggests that you are in a period of readjustment that involves a strengthening sense of your own self-worth and a restructuring your relationships to accommodate it. This may take some time and, given Aries predisposition toward impatience, you may not be willing to give it that. The wild card is you. Are you able to sustain trust in yourself long enough to be capable of a major, life changing, “from the ground up” renovation of what it means to be in a committed, balanced, give and take relationship? Or will you take short cuts that save time. One short cut that I hope you reject is the one that “uncomplicates” the restructuring process by “toning down” your growing sense of your own worth and value. The next three weeks are critical, but your sense of your own worth and value may be challenged through the end of the year.
Money and your sense of your own worth and value may be tied to shared domestic and work responsibilities. Recently you may have gained a clearer sense of your role and how these responsibilities stabilize and create joy. While a part of you loves feeding, gardening, comforting, and creating a harmonizing magic with your special brand of artistic flair, there is conflict and hostility regarding your perception of unfairness and an “unequal sharing” of work and responsibility. This is deeply rooted in old memories of another person’s failure to accept their fair share of work and responsibility, while you were left feeling overburdened and under appreciated. Or maybe the situation was reversed. By Sunday the Universe turns up the heat to further frustrate you for the purpose of creating an inner breakthrough. You may hit a brick wall (figuratively speaking). But repeating the same patterns and feeling the same anger or guilt over and over is no longer necessary. As Mercury retrogrades and Neptune reverses course you are sensitized to old buried information. This is a good time to reflect, to remember old injustices, and to begin to connect the dots between what happened then and what’s happening now. Once you’re clear on the nature of current conflicts you’ll be able to make better decisions about which responsibilities to accept and what to refuse. Look inside for answers.
This week Geminis enter a highly sensitized phase involving the past, self-worth, net worth, and your professional life. Some adjustments will need to be made, especially if you’re not used to productively channeling all the psychic information that will be emerging from within. If your profession is a healing one, you will be able to move into some very deep waters to work your magic. If your focus is healing yourself, especially your sense of your own self worth and and value, the universe will help you to access buried information that reveals how past experiences may have diminished you… and how that now affects your financial condition. You may also be reviewing your style and approach to life in light of new information, heightened sensitivity, and more powerful healing abilities. Taking a step back to consider how to foster greater harmony between your most natural style and approach and your professional goals and direction is greatly facilitated this week. Protecting yourself from negativity, from negative people and influences is important. Ask for help from your inner guides as you spend time quieting your mind through Yoga, meditation, music, immersing yourself in natural surroundings, or whatever is most effective for you. As always, efforts to harness Neptune’s energy diminishes its potentially undermining effects.
As Mercury resides just over your solar Ascendent, you’re moving toward a high point in terms of being able to understand your inner emotional nature. Putting fears, insecurities, and self-doubt into a more realistic perspective involves connecting the dots and being more aware of past experiences, old traumas, and forgotten slights. Cancer, more than any other sign, relies on intuition and feeling to determine her course of action. Understanding your “inner landscape” and habitual patterns is critical because fear and self-doubt can cause intuitive distortions that veer you off course. Awareness shines light into the darkness and, like the disinfecting power of the Sun, it brings to an end whatever restricts your life energy. It is my suggestion, this week, that you quiet your mind and reconsider your past, converse with old friends and relatives about their memories of your past. Enlist a nurturing therapist, alternative energy healer, or reputable past life regretionist to help you remember what you’ve forgotten. The upcoming full Moon brings you to the end of some long, fearful, challenging road that kept you imprisoned, and with some conscious effort on your part, finally sets you free.
Leo’s are in a period of transition and this can be especially unnerving for a sign more adept at taking action, forging ahead confidently, and fully engaging with those around them. As the full Moon moves toward culmination Leo’s move to the business of closing a chapter of their life’s story that involves emotions, the past, home, family, and digging up or putting down roots. Some old inflexibility or excuse involving work, responsibility, and financial stability has been washed away. What’s left is the need to conscientiously tie up loose ends, to reflect on the past, and to make room for a more fitting and promising future. You may find yourself betwixt and between communities, groups, and friends – in the process of detaching from the old and tired and anticipating whatever lies ahead. What would be most beneficial this week is some quiet time to mourn what’s being lost, and a commitment to not skip important emotional steps. It’s time to feel grateful for past experiences that have brought you to this point, to sift through old memories, and to take yourself, begrudgingly or not, through emotions you’d rather not feel, because that will land you in a place of peace. Taking the time to thoroughly finish this chapter allows you to enter your future with joy and a child-like openness to all the best it has to offer.
This week Virgos assess their habitual patterns and cycles and attempt to determine, while the merry-go-round slows, if it’s yet time to jump off. Sensitivity and intuitive guidance intensifies where relationships are concerned. Insight deepens as you attempt to understand the mysterious nature of relationships and the meaning of your experiences. There is a reconsideration of your life direction, how you should proceed, and if you’re ready to make public a change in your relationship status. There seems to be some dilemma involved in seeking a deeper emotional connection with the larger community, your reputation, and the achievement of cherished goals. Saturn, the strict task-master and wise authority, is demanding honesty – with yourself first, and then with the larger community. “Putting your money where your mouth is” is the cruder way of describing what is being demanded of you. Astrologically there is the suggestion that through this struggle you have the potential to make yourself whole, to protect your integrity, and to truly embrace what it means to be a humble servant, an authentic teacher, and a strong leader. Purification is the name of this game and it may all feel very familiar.
Libra’s are known for their ability to see both sides of any issue. Their decision-making ability is stronger as a result. The downside, though, is that understanding both sides can make every decision feel half wrong, even when it involves holding fast to your principles, protecting your integrity and sense of self-worth. This week your astrology seems to be challenging you to consider first, a healthy sense of your own personal worth and value as the primary factor in any decision making enterprise. Challenges will present in the form of past conditioned responses, where fear always makes the “safe” decision seem right… even when it’s not. Applying more pressure will be the unpredictability of another’s behavior, and your desire to balance the “other” (and yourself) through over-compromise. Venus, your sign’s ruler, now resides in Taurus, in a powerfully intense environment for you. Any temptation to avoid a difficult decision by diminishing your sense of self worth, as a contributing business or intimate partner, will land you in a place you don’t want to be. Any wavering when it comes to trusting yourself and your own instincts will be equally frustrating. Venus is inclined now to open the door to a collaboration that highly values and appreciates your contribution and to demonstrate that concretely and consistently. But first Venus want to know that you’re capable of honoring yourself and holding steadfast.
There is no sign more capable of weaving tangled webs, creating intrigue, and complicating, beyond all recognition, what could otherwise be fairly straight forward, than a Scorpio. But I have noticed the more experienced ones to be amazingly capable of simplifying and of focusing on the beauty of something small, simple, or seemingly insignificant. Their ability to focus on the present moment is better than most as well. Venus, now in the sign of Taurus, tends to enhance a Scorpio’s potential to move in the direction of health, wholeness, and integration through a focus on simplifying, especially in the area of life ruled by relationships and decision making. Scorpios often end up with partners who force them to simplify and to focus on the essential. This can be a very difficult challenge for the “uninitiated”. Now the door opens to a deeper interpretation of the value of partnering with “the simplifying other”, especially since the “other” tends to reflect an unacknowledged part of you. Relationships and decision making may be difficult this week as old conditioned tendencies create fear and complications through a focus on the future rather than this present moment. Your work environment or some health issue may be heating up the potential for a showdown as well. Your greatest advantage this week lies in focusing on the present moment, what is most essential, the beauty of something small, simple, and uncomplicated. A new interest in developing this simplifying piece of yourself has the potential to greatly enhance how satisfied you feel in relationships.
Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, and your sign’s ruler, is about to complete its year long trek through the sign of Cancer. Sagittarians, over the past year, have been in a phase of rapid emotional growth, stimulated by intense life changing experience that pushed them beyond their accustomed capacity. Jupiter will not revisit Cancer for another twelve years. This week seems like a good time to reflect on how far you’ve come emotionally in dealing with major life transitions and to recognize anything left undone that you would like to address over the next six weeks. (Maybe “like” is the wrong word:) Astrologically there is the suggestion that something has been left unsaid, some fact overlooked, or an important step skipped as you’ve worked toward healing or solidifying a bond. You may need to grow just a little further to be able to fully express the trust needed to a seal an important relationship, or to express to a financial partner how you feel about an unfairness that defines the nature of the partnership. If you’ve yet to heal from some old trauma, Jupiter can help you acquire just a little more faith, self love, and understanding to move you past the finish line. Stretching just a little further emotionally may give you the capacity to deepen an intimate relationship. Equally important, however, is finding time to savor the deep satisfaction that comes with recognizing how far you’ve come over the past year.
This week your ability to acutely sense underlying influences and patterns within your immediate environment, and possibly an undermining influence, affects your perspective toward obligations, authority, friendships, groups, and the community. Finances and your ambition to find a powerful and lucrative niche for yourself within the community may be providing more pressure. As you become highly sensitized to all forms of communication, your own thoughts, and maybe the thoughts of others, your immediate environment takes on a different feel. You may be confused, but there is a method to the Universe’s madness that challenges you to stay focused, disciplined, professional, willing to face what is being revealed, and deeply committed to your goals… while, at the same time, letting go of some rigidity and fear. Worrying about your future, for you, is a distraction and a trap. Through the integration of your instincts, intuition, feelings and dreams, you are now being presented with a more accurate view of your reality, an opportunity to forgive, to express compassion, to heal, and to realize that flexibility and a change of heart does not threaten your power to achieve of your goals. It enhances it.
You are teetering on the edge of some major breakthrough as you entertain some important decisions about your future life direction. Financial collaborations, trusting partners, and overcoming the fear of losing control over your life is a habitual fear and concern. Giving in too easily and compromising your dreams when you should be strengthening your independence and demanding concessions requires vigilance, self-discipline, and a balanced approach. By next Sunday you may reach a critical decision point where you must decide whether to stand your ground, protect your freedom, and insist on equal give and take, or to give in to someone or something you trust more than yourself. I would suggest that you be very suspicious of any inclination to give in to fear. Instead, take a step back, take your time, and take a good look at the big picture. Consider what information your behavior and your decisions convey. Consider what feels right, even though it may feel risky, and consider the longer term implications of protecting (or violating) your sense of integrity.
Neptune’s retrograde phase is an opportunity to heal that involves strengthening the connection with your relatively new and healthier inner life. A history of poor physical health, insecurity, relationship problems, and perfectionist tendencies are most likely associated with old (maybe ancient) relationship experiences involving revenge, betrayal, deception, and possibly abuse. Those experiences formed distorted inner foundations that you’ve lived with, maybe for a very long time. You are now most likely in the final throws of a healing phase where an old Karmic cycle has ended, the truth has been revealed, the perpetrator caught, and responsibility taken. But your style and approach to life has yet to fully catch up with your new, healthier inner matrix. This week you become highly sensitized to where there remains a gap between your approach to life and your new inner reality, where you continue to fall back on old, toxic interactions, where unfounded fears remain, and inflexibility has taken hold. Quieting your mind is important. Clearly stated intentions to fully connect with your healed inner life facilitate the process. Pay close attention to your instincts, intuition, dreams, and the synchronous events that guide you toward full integration and vibrant health.
